Douglas Bittinger
I’ve been writing since I was a kid. Early on it was mostly to amuse myself; a venting, if you will, of creative urges that would otherwise have caused my mind to explode.
Some of the career opportunities I’ve pursued have been in the publishing industry. My first published book came as a result of being the Production Manager for a printing company that had among its many clients a magazine called COMAL Today. I got to know their editors, with whom I chatted about computer programming. They were impressed with my knowledge at such a young age (as well as the position I held with their publisher) and they invited me to write articles for the magazine, and then encouraged me to write a book. I wrote it, they published it, and I was on my way. I’ve been writing, at least part time, ever since,
I like sharing what I know with others and have been a teacher of people of various ages and in various venues. Yet I also recognize that there is so much yet to learn. We must never stop learning.
